Welcome to the Make Money as a Life Coach® podcast where sales expert and Master Coach Stacey Boehman teaches you how to make your first $2K, $20K, and $200K using her proven formula.

Hey coaches, welcome to episode 338. Are you ready today? This is going to be like a mini masterclass, so I hope you’re ready. This is one of these episodes where I go so deep into something that it makes me want to teach even more in my actual programs. So, this is going to be a good on, and I’m so excited to share it with you today. We’re going to talk about turning the money faucet on and off.

So, this is a concept that has come from my 200k Mastermind room. We are open for enrollment currently, when this episode lands live for only a few more days. And then we will be closed, or open for applications, I should say. And I love to do while we’re in a pre-launch and a launch, I love to have the episodes really be tailored to the 200k room for my students and to hype up the students who are joining us. So, this episode is no different.

So, in the 200k Mastermind, I teach this concept of turning the money faucet on and off. I believe it’s one of the biggest reasons people join the room. As an entrepreneur, it’s a very powerful feeling to believe that you have this ability, that when you want to turn money on, you can. And when you want to turn money off, you can, and it’s 100% in your control.

Let’s just break it down what it means. Turning the money faucet on is you want to make money and you believe that you can, you have the ability to right now. So if you desire to make money, let’s say you want to come up with $60,000, you go out and you create $60,000. I’ve done that in a two-day period before. I remember I needed to, I was meeting a mastermind of mine that I was in, and they, we were supposed to have a reserve, like a $10,000 reserve for every $100,000 we were making. And I was making 600k at the time. And I was like, “Oh my God, I’m supposed to have a reserve.” That’s $60,000, but I don’t have $60,000 in a reserve, so I’m doing it wrong. And I just wanted to show up like every other person, yes, I have my reserve. And I’m like, “Okay, I’m going to create $60,000 in two days.” And I did. That’s turning the money faucet on.

For whatever reason, for me, I have no judgment for any reasons why you want to turn the money faucet on. If you have an investment that you want to make, if you want to buy something for your kid, if you want to go on a dream vacation, if you want to pay off some debt, if you get a tax bill out of nowhere that surprises you, it does not matter. If it’s a want or a need, something expected or unexpected, I am here as your mentor and coach to support you in, there is no wrong reason for you as a CEO and an entrepreneur to ever want to turn the money faucet on. But the skill of it means that you believe that you can and you do, and you can turn it on quickly. So when you want and need to be doing something other than selling.

When you have this skillset, here’s what’s really beautiful about it. Turning the money faucet off, you can turn that money faucet off whenever you want and need to be doing something other than selling. And there will be times where you’re going to be doing things other than selling in your business. And when you have the power to turn it on, you can also work to have the power to turn it off with peace and confidence, and be away for as long as you need without holding the grip of moneymaking in your hand.

So many of us can take a vacation, or you can, you know, spend the day with your children, or you can take a weekend off, but you, the grip of moneymaking is still held tight in your mind and in your body. But being able to turn the money faucet off means that you can set it down. There is no grip. I can go on vacation and not talk about my business at all and not check in, and not look at sales, and not question whether money’s ever coming in again because I didn’t market for a week. I can post if I want, but only about vacation if I want. Like, I don’t have to do anything. I can just be off and be present because I believe when I’m on, it’s all going to be working, and it’s all and money’s going to be flowing back to me effortlessly as soon as I turn it back on.

Right? One of the key factors of having nailed this skillset is that when you believe when you decide to turn that faucet back on that the water will not only be there, but it will be warm. Right? Warm leads, warm people. Like you don’t have to have lots of lead up to have people ready to buy, that demand is always there. People are always waiting to pay you. And you just decide when to usher them in or not.

So, first, typically students learn to do this with me once as a starting point. We get that first proof of concept. You can do it. You can turn the money faucet on or you can turn the money faucet off. And typically, we will work to create both of those, like an experience where you’ve really turned it on and an experience where you’ve really been able to turn it off. But once is usually the starting point. You learn how to turn it on when you want and need to turn it on, and then you learn to turn it off, typically separately.

So, I teach the process of the first turn, the first turning it on in the Revenue Challenge, or as we call it in the 200k Mastermind room, the 25k in 30-Day Challenge. But I’ve been referring to it as the Revenue Challenge recently because so many people now, we have so many coaches from so many different, you know, stages of business that someone might be going for a 60, like I have someone in the current Revenue Challenge who’s going for $60k in 30 days and then someone that was going for $10k. So, we, we really kind of just call it the Revenue Challenge now, but many people know it as the 25k in 30-Day Challenge.

And that’s really where we get to create an experience that allows you to try to turn the money faucet on for maybe the first time, like a really intentional, I’m creating this exact amount of money. Not I’m launching and seeing how much I come up with, but I’m turning on this exact amount of money.

So, in the Revenue Challenge, you learn to identify your winning value strategy of how you give value in order to get paid. And then your simple effective marketing plan. So what you actually do to bring people in. You learn to bring your energy up really quickly without a long super long runway. And you learn to stay in service energy the whole time and direct your brain back to service when it wants to be in get energy.

And a lot of people think if their brain goes to get energy when they’re trying to create a, turn the money faucet on and create a certain amount of money in a certain amount of time that there’s something that’s gone wrong.

When really, I just think when you have a timeline, when you create a deadline, your brain automatically tries to get you to speed up to meet it. And if you never let yourself set a goal, if you never let yourself practice turning the money faucet on, if you never put yourself in a situation like a Revenue Challenge where you would be challenged in order to stay, to figure out how to stay in service energy and direct your brain back to service energy, you never learn that skill. So you only make money when you’re just in service energy naturally, and then you don’t make money when you’re in get energy, and it doesn’t feel as much in your control.

And eventually what happens if you do this enough times in a row, if you challenge yourself this way to turn the money faucet on and off enough times while directing your brain back to service energy, eventually that becomes the path of least resistance for your brain. Like your brain is very interested in the path of least resistance, and typically the path of least resistance on a deadline is speed up urgency get.

But you can create the path of least resistance to be service. And that is, like people always ask me, how did you make money when you had a negative bank account? Well, I learned to turn money on by being in service and always directing my brain back to service when it wanted to be in lack. And then I learned how to give value ahead of time to match how much money I needed to make. And I learned how to keep things simple so that I could really be the most effective at the things I was doing.

Another part of this first turn of the money faucet on and off, and the Revenue Challenge is we really, it’s an exercise in visibility and energy. Like keeping your visibility up, keeping your energy up, and like seeing, if you want to make $25,k for exampl,e in 30 days, seeing yourself as the person who does that naturally. It’s not the same person as the person who you are now that’s maybe making $2k or $5k and hoping to make this much money. It’s I’m going to learn how to bring up enough visibility and energy in order to create this type of money. Also an exercise in connection. Can I stay connected the entire 30 days or the entire time I’m trying to turn the money faucet on? It doesn’t have to be 30 days, it could be two days. But can I stay totally connected?

If you’re in 2k for 2k, it could be, can you stay connected for one full day? The energy of 2k today. But it is an exercise in staying connected to your people, to the value that you have to offer, to the way that you’re offering your value and how you’re marketing, and to your sales process and to the overall outcome that your client is going to create. It’s connection. You learn how to face the challenge and then stay in belief, even with the challenge. To stay in belief and to stay in service. And you learn how to go through the finish line and complete a money goal.

This is the big thing when I teach my students this for the first time. What people do with goals that how they do it wrong is they decide I’m going to make $10k in 30 days. And then the 30 days comes and they didn’t make the $10k and they stop. And maybe they start over with, okay, so now I’m going to try again this month.

Sometimes they even up their goal and they’re like, well, I didn’t do it last month, so now this month it’s got to be $20k in 30 days. They don’t just say 30 days was an arbitrary number or two days was an arbitrary number, one day was an arbitrary number. I’m going to keep going until I do with the same level of commitment as if I’m in this time period where I wanted to make it to see how long it actually takes me. Does it take me 60 days instead or 90 days instead?

And then in that time period, what I’ve actually learned is the effort and energy and value and marketing, all of the work that it takes to actually turn the money faucet on for that amount of money. So if it’s $10k or $25k, like the only reason that you don’t make the money you want to make is you don’t understand what goes into making that amount of money. Otherwise, you would just do it. You don’t understand the thought processes, the belief systems, the energy, the marketing, the visibility, the value, like you just don’t understand the equation that goes into creating that amount of money. So you have to keep testing it to learn that, to figure that out.

And so you go through the finish line and you complete the money goal, and then you see, oh, okay, this is where I was off in my estimation. So, typically what my students do is they do it the first time, and either they achieve the Revenue Challenge or they don’t, and they keep going until they do. And then they’ll do it again to do it faster.

And then they’ll, I always am encouraging my students to keep doing it, always keep playing with turning the money faucet on and off because imagine, like really think about who you are as an entrepreneur and what your life and your business is like when you can make money anytime you want in the exact amount that you need to make or want to make. And you could also stop making money and let go of the reins and set it down and then come back to it after any amount of time and just pick back right back up where you left off. The difference in how you would feel in your business.

So, after the first time you do it, where you’re like, “Oh my God, I really turned the money faucet on.” Whether it took you the exact amount of time that you had hoped, or it took you a little longer. Once you turn it on for the first time, the next time, the subsequent times after that, the biggest thing to know that I really want you to hear for this episode. Like really, up until now, I’ve just given you the background, but this is what I really want this episode to be about, is the biggest thing to do this on repeat and for it to become who you are, which is the goal of my 200k Mastermind.

The goal of this room is to become a $200k earner, but not just once, but it’s who you are, and you are able to repeat it. It’s just the standard to which you operate. You can turn the money faucet on, you can turn it off. It’s the standard of how you operate. And then the result is a $200,000 business. Someone who has this skill on repeat will have a $200,000 business. They’ll go through $100,000 business first, and then they’ll go to create a $200,000 business and then even further.

So the biggest thing to know after the first time that you turn the money faucet on and off is that turning the money faucet on and off becomes a result of your self-concept. So when my self-concept aligns to the skill of turning money faucet on and off, that is the result that I have. I make money when I say I’m going to make money, and then I feel calm and sufficient and confident and peaceful to stop making money, then take a break and come back to it, and I, then I just pick it back up and make money again. And so my business feels fully in control. Moneymaking feels in control to me. Like, I am in control of it.

I have realized because I’ve done a public Revenue Challenge and I’ve done, I’ve had people only do the challenge once and of just over the last eight years since I’ve been running this program, I have realized that anyone can do it once with the right energy, with the right support, with first time enthusiasm, takes you a long way. And when all systems just happen to be go and firing. Right? Like when I did the public Revenue Challenge, so many people killed it. Like, they made so much money, they blew their minds. But not all of them left believing they could do it permanently. Maybe they, the right energy was curated because I know how to curate a Revenue Challenge.

I introduced the Revenue Challenge in the very, the second mastermind that I ever did of 200k back in 2019. So my August of 2019 class was the first time, it was a 10k in 30-Day Revenue Challenge. We were in Chicago, Illinois at a Thompson Hotel, I believe. And I introduced a 10k in 30-Day Revenue Challenge. So I’ve been doing it for that long. So I know how to create the right energy to help you do it once. I know how to support people through this challenge. I know how to get their enthusiasm up. I know how to get their systems going and firing.

But the person who can turn it on when they need to repeatedly, this person has deeply changed their self-concept. It’s not just the process they’re doing, it’s not just the actions they’re taking, it’s not just the vibe of the room, it’s not just the energy of the challenge, it’s not just the putting all of their effort and energy into one thing for 30 days straight. We can all do that. We can all work out for 30 days straight. We can all eat healthy for 30 days straight. Like we can abstain from sugar and flour for 30 days straight. Like we can do anything for 30 days straight. The person who turns it on and off reliably in their business has changed deeply who they are and how they think. And this is how.

This person trusts themselves to create value. And I want you to hear this because I’m about to lay out the road map for turning the money faucet on and off. Like, the traits you have to have, the skills you have to have. So this person trusts themselves to create value. Like they, they’re not, it doesn’t feel ambiguous. They know what value is. Which ironically is also the thing I taught that very first Revenue Challenge from the 2019 live event. I taught what is value and how do we create it?

So crazy how these things have like after years and years, they still are the truth. So this person trusts themselves to create value, they trust themselves to market and sell. They trust their marketing, they trust their selling. They trust their demand. They believe in their demand. They believe people are waiting to pay them. They believe their people are out there, and they know how to connect with them.

They feel secure in their moneymaking abilities. Like I feel secure that I know how to make this amount of money. And I know how to attack bigger goals and I know how to make more money. I know how to grow income. That’s a very powerful skill to have as an entrepreneur. I know how to grow income.

And most importantly, what I have found the people who are able to do it over and over, time and time again, is they know what they are doing. That is their predominant belief. I know what I’m doing. In the beginning, it’s so common and so normal to feel like you don’t know what you’re doing. But going from I don’t know what I’m doing to I know what I’m doing is the difference of I make money on demand. And I can take time off without stress and fear of it drying up, or without fear that I’m going to become irrelevant.

The person who can turn it on and off religiously, reliably, they also understand the value of being an asset and turning the faucet off to rest as the asset of their business. To rest, to vacation, to clean up the backend of their business and client onboarding, and delivery. I have spent, people don’t want to believe this about me, because I know that you think of me as the sales queen. I think of myself as the sales queen.

However, I have actually spent more time delivering to my students than I’ve ever spent selling to them. Way more time. The amount of time that I have spent creating courses, creating live event content, creating topics for coaching calls, creating posts that I can add value to my students, creating podcasts, like the amount of time that I have spent coaching my clients or creating content for them has been much greater than selling to them.

I remember at one point I took, I think, almost six months off of selling. It was just recreating the 2k for 2k process. This was years ago. But I gave myself six full months to create the process. We had some like ad funnels running, but I wasn’t like actively in a bunch of launches. I have spent so much time delivering. And I’m able to do that and trust that the sales will come in.

Or like sometimes, you know, especially when I’m doing an Entrepreneur Series, that’s like a new thing for me. And I’m creating, a lot of times I have the main outline done and I know what I’m going to teach and I’ve been thinking about it for months and months, but the actual, like what I’m going to deliver, the conversation I’m going to have on the call, I’m creating that in real time while I’m delivering it. I’m paying attention to what people are saying in the group.

We always do like when they people join the Facebook group, I ask them what they hope to achieve and what they hope to get from the training and why they joined. And I take the things they said and I make sure I weave them into my teaching. If I wasn’t planning on teaching this, I add a little segment here because I want everyone to feel like they got what they came for. And so it’s a very active process. It takes a lot of time and energy.

I spend one week marketing it, maybe six hours or less, sometimes a couple of hours writing emails to market it, a couple Facebook lives, but the rest of the, it’s two straight weeks of hours and hours of delivery. And sometimes that delivery is so intense that I plan to market it harder and longer than I actually do because I just don’t have anything left after the delivery. I’m like, you know, and I just don’t have anything left to keep, like I don’t have a Facebook live left in me today after a two-hour call and an hour of planning the call and then engagement in the group, and I’m done. I’m spent.

And so, it’s really important as you grow, seeing yourself as the asset to be able to do that because I truly believe the number one, like I’ve run polls of people asking or of me asking people how have they found me, how have they come, you know, to buy from me and they will almost always, like the predominant response is word of mouth. And word of mouth and referral business is about delivery. People who are happy working with you and go tell other people about it. And so, to be able to do that, to focus on your delivery, to hone your results for your clients, and really like take on the idea of I want to really overdeliver and create 100% results for my clients.

I have so many podcast episodes about that. But to be able to like really care about that delivery and to hone that and to get better at your coaching, better at your delivery, better at your course content, better at your client experience, better at your customer service, to be able to rest, to be able to vacation, you have to be able to turn the money faucet on or off and you have to be able to see yourself all of those things as an asset to the moneymaking in the business.

So people who are able to do this religiously, they have those beliefs. And they also know without a doubt that the money will be there again. Not because of what they will do, but because of who they are. Like I just told my 200k Mastermind room, we were talking about this concept. We talk about it often of turning the money faucet on and off. People get coaching on it all the time. And I can’t remember the specific circumstances, but my student was afraid of turning it off and it not being able to come back on in a short period of time.

And I said, “I’m about to go on a three-month maternity leave and I’m going to set, mostly set down. We have some sales opportunities that I’m going to present to people to help them learn and grow while I’m away, birthing a baby and raising a baby, nursing a baby, so that we’re all caught up on the same page when I come back because I have a lot of big things planned when I come back. But I’m going to be off for three months. I’m not going to be working.”

And I have zero doubt. I’m going to come back on, and I feel the dial turning up just when I think about the week I come back. Like the very week I come back, I have things planned to turn the money faucet right back on and like really bring up the energy of my entire community. Like I’m coming back like I just, I feel it in my body.

So whether it’s a maternity leave for you, I coach so many women who are going on that, the ability to for that to be extended. If you want to, I want to go to Europe next year and I want to go for like 20 something days, 20 or 30 days. See how long I can convince my husband. And I’m going to believe that I can go there and I don’t have to be selling while I’m there. I don’t have to be making posts promoting myself while I’m there. I can just be on vacation.

So I know without a doubt the money will be there again because of who I am, because of just what I own inside of me, the skills, the knowledge, the self-concept. And then the people that can turn it on and off, continuously, is they prove their self-concept and their belief that the money will be there again over and over by turning it back on.

So anyone can do say $10,000 in 30 days or $25k in 30 days. Anybody can do that. I really believe that. $1,000 in 30 days, $2,000 in 30 days, any amount of money that you choose that you can connect with. Like you have to be able to connect with it. You can’t just be like, “I’m going to do a million dollars in 30 days and I don’t believe it at all.” Like that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m not selling you that. It’s not get-rich-quick. You have to have some connection to that number, but whatever number you connect with, anyone can do that in 30 days, especially with first-time enthusiasm.

But it just requires a different level of self-concept to believe that you can repeat that over and over. To believe that’s who you are and then go out and do it over and over. To not be completely depleted and sucked of all energy after you do it each time.

Like someone who truly has, can turn the money faucet on and off has energy after they turn it on. They don’t turn it off for a break and to restore energy because turning it on took so much energy. Right? From not having energy because turning the money faucet on took and depleted. That’s not what’s happening.

That turning it on is who they are, so it doesn’t take the same amount of energy. It might take energy, but it’s not like I’m depleted. It might take expanded capacity, but it doesn’t take I need a week off because I did a launch. So turning the money faucet off isn’t to break from having it on, it’s to turn it off for desire and other priorities, which is like the best reasons to turn it off.

So then there’s another piece of self-concept, the last little piece of this that I have been deeply studying for myself that I believe is a skill like no one’s teaching right now in this clear of a way. And so I’ve been thinking, how do I teach it? So you’re going to get the first little dabbling of it.

But I really believe that the self-concept required to be really good at turning the money faucet on and off has to do with self-trust in you showing up for yourself and your business when you say you’re going to. And being able to navigate the chaos of life that inevitably happens for all of us at any income level, at every income level, and not get taken out by it and not have it be like, like so many people the reason they can’t turn the money faucet on and off is because they believe that outside forces play into the money faucet coming on and off.

Well, I can only turn it on when conditions are ideal. And when conditions aren’t ideal, I have to turn it off unintentionally because I can’t, I don’t have the capacity to hold both life things and business or both hard business things and good business things. I don’t have the capacity to hold both, so I can only choose one, so I have to turn the faucet off when I don’t want to. I have to turn it off against my will.

And so I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I’ve been working on this a lot because I have, since I became a new mom, like I feel like a, if you’ve ever become a new parent, like you might resonate with this. It’s like you have a very specific way of living your life and who you are and your being in general. And then a bomb just comes off, goes off in your life, and you never quite recover. And that’s kind of what the last three years have felt like, and then being pregnant again. And so I’ve been really working on like not allowing that transition or working on getting better through that transition of those things, like the mom things, the all the things that come with having a toddler, like not taking me out.

So I’m going to give you an example of this. Now, I’m going to give you an example, but I don’t want you in any way, shape, or form to think one of two things. I don’t want you to feel sorry for me or feel stressed for me. And I don’t want you to think that like I’m comparing my things to your things because I just don’t do that. I don’t want you to use my things against yourself and be like, “Well, gosh, my things aren’t that bad. I’m like I can’t believe I’m letting myself be taken out by this small thing when Stacey’s doing these big things.” Like, sometimes you guys do that. Or if you have a bigger thing than me, “Well, that’s not as big as this thing.” Right? I just don’t play those games with my clients because I feel like whatever feels really hard for you is your truth, it’s really hard for you. And that’s okay.

So I’m going to tell you what I’ve accomplished in a certain time period and then what I’ve been through at the same time. And then I’m going to tell you why this matters. So what I’ve accomplished since March of this year, so I’m recording this in the beginning of June, March, April, May, June, so like four months-ish. What I’ve accomplished is my Capacity Work Entrepreneur Series, which ended up becoming one of the most successful… I mean, each one just gets better and better, but Capacity Work really surprised me with how big that movement got and how deep we went and how people are still talking about it and how deeply it profoundly changed my life. So I did that course, and it took a lot of me to get that out of me and to coach through that.

And then I went directly into How to Sell Life Coaching, which I also think is one of the best trainings and courses I’ve ever done. It was free, so much fun. Then I went directly into 2k for 2k Live, which was five weeks of intense study through the five-step 2k process. So one step for every week. We had 90-minute calls. And then I weaved in that five week period, three bonus workshops that I created the content for from scratch and delivered over two hours for three, so six hours of workshopping on top of the 2k for 2k Live experience, on top of the engagement in the Facebook community and, you know, going over on calls a little bit, like all of that. Then we went straight into my 200k Mastermind pre-launch, and actually that was overlapping.

And at the same time as 2K for 2K live and the bonus workshops, I was also running coinciding that training with the 25k in 30-Day Challenge. So I was running 2k for 2k Live, the bonus workshops, and the 25k in 30-Day Challenge, which is two calls a week typically for that room. We do a standard weekly call, and then we do a specific call just for the 25k in 30-Day Challenge people who are actively doing the challenge.

And so I ran all of that together, and then we’ve done the 200K pre-launch, and now we’re in our launch. And then as soon as we close this launch, we’re opening my last Entrepreneur Series before I go on maternity leave. And I’ve already created the content. Like the teachings of that is are completed. And I’ll sure, I’ll add things as we go, but I’ve mostly completed that training in this time period. So that’s what I’ve accomplished work-wise and made a lot of money doing that.

Here’s what’s I’ve been through in that same exact time period. And for some of you, this really may like be a transformation. What I’ve been through is during Capacity Work, my dog passed away. I did a podcast episode about that. I’d had him for 12 years since he was one year old. He, I’ve had him longer than my husband. And it was so traumatic and so surprising. I had to take an entire week to grieve. It was so, I still like to this day, sometimes I will just start crying out of nowhere. Like, I think I’m going to see him on his dog bed. Like I, I was telling my husband actually yesterday, I was like, “It just feels a little bit like he took a trip and he’s coming back and I just keep waiting for him to come back.” It’s like the weirdest thing. I’ve never experienced grief like that. So I, I went through that.

And then I’ve had bleeding in my pregnancy, which they think is vascular, so it’s more scary than it is problematic. But I’ve had two emergency room visits, one on Mother’s Day and my son’s birthday, and two emergency OB visits, like going to the OBGYN, one the day after Easter, all while I’m delivering these things.

My son also got a virus. We took him to the zoo, and two days later, he had a virus. And I swear it’s the plague. I don’t know if you guys have had this virus, but we got it for, I have had it the entire month of May. Like coughing, mucus, like all the just like coughing uncontrollably. And there’s not very much you can take with being pregnant to like suppress coughs. So I’m just like coughing all the time for a full month straight.

And then we decided to go anyways on our baby moon to Palm Beach. And I’m like, “The ocean is going and the warm air is going to clear this virus up and I’m going to feel so much better and it’s, you know, it’s like it was on the tail end of going out.”

Nope. Instead, it turned into a bacterial sinus infection. And I came home the day that we arrived home was like the hardest day, like it really hit. And I was like, “Oh my God, I have a sinus infection.” Like it’s a for sure, like we got to get antibiotics going. During this time, I’ve also had eight weeks of restless leg that has sometimes led me to many nights in a row being only able to sleep like three hours a night. And then leading to massive nausea because I’m just so tired. Like I, it makes me feel like I’m going to go out of my mind.

And we have tried everything, everything. Like we have had many OB appointments where I’ve like, you guys, I’m losing my mind. Like I’m mentally struggling. Like, nighttime is so bad for me because I just for hours and hours, like I have to get up and just like stretch my legs, stomp my feet, move around. Like it’s like awful. If you’ve ever had restless leg, it’s the worst thing on the planet. We have tried everything. I promise you, everything. Even pickle juice, which was a suggestion for my OBGYN, but we have tried everything. Nothing works, nothing.

And then on top of that, this literally, my mom was like, “I think you’re living in the Twilight Zone.” I was like, “You might be right.” On top of this, like right around my son’s, I think it was like maybe right after my son’s birthday. So at the beginning of May, our plumbing went out in our basement, which we didn’t even know was a thing. And it made our entire house smell like sewage. It was awful. There was sewage water coming up from our basement, our guest, like bathroom, in the tub. And it took days to fix because it was over, oh, no, you know what? It must have been Easter. It was over a holiday. It was over some holiday weekend, so they couldn’t fix it. But it was at some point, they couldn’t fix it. It was a holiday weekend and so it went like that for days. It was awful, especially when you’re pregnant and you’re like, “Oh my God, that’s, it was terrible.”

And we get that fixed. And then the night that we come home from my baby moon with my sinus infection, the pipes for our, all of our plumbing, like the pipes that lead our sewage out to our road collapsed outside of our home. Like the ground just sunk in, and the pipes collapsed. And we lost all plumbing to our house. And so I’m showering with my son, and my husband comes in screaming, “There is sewage water coming out of our ceiling.” It was pouring out of our ceiling from our on our guest bedroom.

Thankfully not in our room or in any of the other areas of the house, but like ruined our guest bed. The whole thing has to be demolished. Like, I think we have to take the carpet out. I think we have to rip out the ceiling. We have to change the everything. Oh my gosh. And they have not been able to get us an appointment to fix it for over a week. It’s been like that one has been the craziest. Let me just tell you. I didn’t even know that was possible either. And apparently you have to have what they call line insurance to cover it. We don’t have it. So it’s going to be an enormous amount of money to fix it, not counting the restoration to the basement bedroom.

And that night, like here’s what I want to say. While this, some of this has gone on, I have had human moments where I have sobbed and wept in the moment of like the overwhelm of the thing. Like I’ve had human responses. And also, I have been able to accomplish every single thing I set out to accomplish.

In fact, like when I read the list, I’m like, wait. Like when I say it out loud, I’m like, there should be more emotion behind it, but there isn’t because I just emotionally regulated myself through every single one of these things and stayed committed to what I wanted to accomplish and the things that mattered and the purpose that I have the entire time.

And also, while all of this is happening, I have designed my baby’s nursery basically from scratch and oversaw all, like this week we have contractors in our house the whole week. We’re doing wainscoting, we’re doing painting, we’re doing, what do you call… wallpaper. We’re doing all the things. They’re all coming this week and then they’re doing install next week. So I have been like overseeing and making decisions for all of that. Planned my son’s birthday party from scratch and oversaw all of that. And I’m planning my baby shower, which is this Sunday, and making all the decisions for that. So it’s been like a lot of decision making while also having a lot of chaos, while also accomplishing a ton of things.

But when you stay the course, when you emotionally regulate through life’s chaos, through the hardships, through the obstacles, and you can stay engaged and connected to your business, you are no longer turning the faucet off unintentionally. You don’t have to walk away when you don’t want to.

Now, I could have walked away if I wanted to. I could have like pushed something back a week. I wanted to do all of the things. I wanted to be there for all of the things. I wanted to accomplish everything in the exact timeline I had planned. Through this time period, I also planned out every single week up until my maternity leave, and then every week once I come back through the end of the year, and all through January is planned. Like, back to back everything we’re doing.

So right now, like I have a goal. I’ve been in business for 10 years and my, this is my celebration year. That’s a whole another conversation, but this is my celebration year. And what I wanted most to do this year is to create more value and content and get everything I’ve learned in 10 years of business out of my brain and to my students through my entrepreneur series, through all of my core programs, new offerings in 2k, new offerings in 200k, new offerings in 2 Million Dollar Group. Like I want to express 10 years of wisdom, and it’s going to take me way beyond this year, like all into next year as well. And who knows beyond that? But there’s a lot of wisdom I’ve learned from 10 years.

And so I just can’t do what I want to do in my life if every time something terrible happens or stressful happens or every time I’m sick or every time our house is chaos and plumbing is out and we are like, you know, having to do quick showers and, you know, flush very infrequently, and do laundry at other people’s houses. Like all of that is, it just can’t be, it can’t be, it can’t be the main character. It can’t be the influence. It can’t be the obstacle.

Otherwise, I’ll never accomplish this big grand thing that I want to accomplish with all of the value that I want to create. I can’t make the money I want to make if the if there are outside forces that can force me to turn the faucet off unintentionally.

And here’s what’s happened in this year that has been so incredible for me. Like, it has changed my entire life. And I know that it would change yours. When you no longer turn the money faucet off unintentionally because of being unregulated, and stress, and obstacles, you trust yourself to keep it on. You don’t fear the things outside of you controlling your money anymore. You have such greater peace when you decide to turn it off, and you only turn it off when you desire, and then otherwise it stays on. And that is when it really starts compounding. That’s when it gets really good.

So there’s so much, there’s so many layers to the self-concept that creates this. And some of you might be like, I don’t have any of these. And that’s where the work begins. We have to start somewhere. What I just explained to you is what I would say is 10 years of growth of being able to do this. But I’ve seen my clients do it in a year.

I have one client, my 200k Mastermind, who literally blows my mind. Her husband is going through aggressive cancer treatment. She is his main supporter, caregiver, partner in this journey. And right now they’re not even, I don’t think they’re even in the country. They’re doing a treatment. They’re by themselves, not in a city that they’re knowing. She’s going to the hospital multiple times a day. And she has decided for herself what she wants is to keep building her business, not maintaining it, building it. She wants to keep growing it as something for her, and she also wants to be totally present and engaged with him.

And she just completed her Revenue Challenge and made $10,000 in the same month that she had to go to a different country, brand new place, knows no one, at the hospital multiple times a day. Her husband’s going through experimental treatment, the stress of and the emotional toll of being in a journey that has no endpoint. They go through one treatment and then there’s a few weeks off, and then another treatment and then a few weeks off, and then another one.

And I have really like coached her through and she’s shown up to get coaching through the entire experience to, we taught this in Capacity Work, to keep powering herself up, to keep regulating herself, to express grief and sadness and overwhelm, and then also reconnect back to the business. I have never been more inspired like in my entire career. Like everyone in the group is like, “Who are you?” And like this is incredible. Like this is, it’s the most inspiring thing to see ever is someone who refuses to let anything in life keep them from being who they want to be and accomplishing what they want to accomplish and living their life exactly on their term, the way they want to live it. Like, this to me is everything.

And I love that moneymaking gets to create that skill because it’s not just a moneymaking skill, it is a life skill. I do everything I say I’m going to do. I trust that I’m going to do it. I’ve able to take time off. I do things intentionally. I honor my word. I get it done. I am that person. I have immense self-trust. That’s what it’s about.

All right, so that is turning the money faucet on and off. It is my greatest desire for all of you listening to this episode that you get to this point that you’re able to start wherever you start, you’re willing to start as far back as you need to start and you keep going and you see it all the way through to you until you get to this point because it is an incredibly freeing point.

If you want to do this work with me at an advanced level, if you’ve made $20,000 in the last year of your business, I think you’re ready for the work. You can join us in this class of 200k Mastermind or the next one that we enroll, but this is the work that we do in this room and it is one of my greatest prides and joys to be able to teach entrepreneurs not just making money, but making money like this, having this level of self-concept, this level of skillset to turn the money faucet on and off.
